There is no shortage of graphic design programs on the Internet, but most of them can be used for simple projects, like calendars or greeting cards, due to their limited functionality. If you need to design something that will be published in magazines or websites, then you should look for a professional drawing program. A good solution is CorelDRAW Graphics Suite. It comes with everything you need to create banners, logos, page layouts and much more. The program and the company behind it have a long history. CorelDRAW had a huge success during the 1990s and it still keeps up with the latest technologies, due to the countless updates it has received since its release.

Installing CorelDRAW Graphics Suite takes a few minutes, but you don't have to make any complex configurations along the way. Besides CorelDRAW itself, the package includes other utilities as well, for image editing, bitmap to vector tracing, screen capturing and more. The programs are free to try for a limited period of time, but without any functionality restrictions.

CorelDRAW's main user interface displays a large number of options, but learning them is not difficult, if you take your time. Also, the software's documentation includes a good number of videos, which can help you get started. When starting a new project, you can make a wide range of initial configurations, like selecting a page size, choosing between RGB or CMYK colors and more.

The available tools are organized around the main editing area, on panels, tabs and toolbars. You can insert or draw all sorts of shapes and modify them by clicking and dragging. The program allows you to insert pictures, documents and other file types into your project and you can move them backwards or forwards, edit and trace bitmaps and perform other actions.

Anything you insert in the main editing area can be transformed. Even if you insert custom text, you can use different tools to drag each letter to a different position or to modify its shape. To help you place and align objects with pin-point accuracy, CorelDRAW places a wide range of useful features at your disposal, including rulers, guide lines, snapping functions, parallel, horizontal, angular or segment dimension drawing tools and much more.

If you need to capture something on your screen, edit images, create bar codes or perform other operations before importing new items into your project, you can turn to the other tools included in CorelDRAW Graphics Suite. Their user interfaces include options for launching other programs from the same suite. Instead of looking for their executables or shortcuts, you can launch one of the aforementioned tools at a moment's notice, just by selecting an option.

Pros

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite includes various programs, for vector illustration, image editing and more. All programs offer a broad range of tools and their functionality is quite flexible. Also, CorelDRAW Graphics Suite comes with a rich documentation, including video tutorials.

Cons

There are no obvious issues to address. Anything, from designing simple banners to impressive page layouts can be done in a comfortable manner with CorelDRAW Graphics Suite.
